Just as a theater begins with a clothes rack, my blog will begin with a first entry about how I create my compositions. And it’s pretty banal 😁
It all starts when I sit down at my MIDI keyboard and open my DAW. It can be any DAW. And that’s where the sonic magic begins. I usually pick up a VST instrument and search for a sound that matches my current mood. I start playing melodies, tweaking parameters, and using processing devices like reverb or delay.
Previously, between 2003 and 2005, I was very concerned about the lack of good monitor speakers, a high-quality sound card, and a prepared room… But over time, I became convinced that for a creative person, these are just conventions that often delay the moment of creativity, and sometimes lead to depression.
So it becomes clear that it only takes simple things to create something you’re willing to share.
For almost 20 years now, my arsenal has consisted of just a simple computer, an M-Audio MIDI keyboard, headphones, and a pair of computer speakers. M-Audio 2496 Sound Card.
For me, that’s more than enough. I just do what I can.
And I will be very happy if there are people in the world who like what I create.
